VEGETABLE STIR-FRY

I've wanted to make cooking videos* for the blog for quite some time now and what better song to debut with than Stirfry by Migos?! For me, cooking is very therapeutic especially when I have a great glass of wine and music playing in the background. Through these videos, I hope you are encouraged to cook and dance your way to a fun meal for yourself and loved ones. Also, who doesn't love a good stirfry? It's one of the easiest and quickest dishes to make, super budget friendly, and can even be healthy with the right ingredients (easy on the salt!). Of course, my version is vegetarian but you can add all sorts of ingredients: shrimp, chicken, beef, tofu, etc.  

 

stir fry ingredients

Broccoli

Carrots

String Beans or Snap Peas

1/4" Fresh Ginger

 1 Lime

Dash of Garlic Powder

Dash of Onion Powder

Pinch of Salt 

Sprinkle of Pepper

 Drizzle of EVOO

honey SRIRACHA sauce

Low Sodium Tamari 

Sriracha 

Sesame Seeds 

Honey

Prepare vegetables by washing well and chopping to bite size. If you want to save time, you can purchase pre-cut veggies, fresh not frozen. In a wok or large pan, heat olive oil on medium. You want the pan a little hotter than normal in order to get that good fry going (if you're prone to burning things...keep it on medium-low). A good way to test if a pan is hot enough is to take a drop of water and flick it into the pan - if it's sizzles, it's ready! In a large bowl, season veggies with salt (just a little - garlic and onion powder, along with tamari have salt as well), pepper, olive oil, garlic/onion powder and lime.

Place the toughest veggies in first (carrots and broccoli), you'll want those to cook the longest. Stir every few seconds so nothing burns and you get a nice sizzle all over. When they're about halfway soft, add in the fresh grated ginger, snap peas/string beans, and keep stirring until all of the veggies are soft.  


To make the sauce, add in equal parts tamari, sriracha and honey with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Give it a taste! To reduce the spice, add in a little more honey and tamari. Want it sweeter? Add more honey, honey.
