HOMEMADE HOT COCOA
Happy Monday, ya'll!
It's officially cold in Atlanta...this past weekend was FREEZING! I am by no means a fan of cold weather--viva summer--but obviously that's out of my control. So, in the meantime, there are fun things you can do to keep warm inside like make hot cocoa the old fashioned way! There are plenty of brands that offer hot chocolate prepackaged where all you have to do is add hot water or milk but that's no fun! A friend of mine suggested to make it the old way in a pot so here it is!
I N G R E D I E N T S
- 2 tbsp sugar
- dash of salt
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp HERSHEY'S Cocoa
- 2 cups almond milk (or milk of your choice)
- 1/3 cup water
Add milk and water to pot, bring to a simmer but do not boil. Burnt milk isn't yummy.
Add cocoa, sugar and salt, mixing slowly until all ingredients are smoothly blended. Once blended, pour into your favorite mug adding vanilla extra and marshmallows. Careful not to burn your mouth!
(P.S.- For a little more fun try adding cinnamon, coffee/espresso or other extracts like citrus or mint.)
