I absolutely love this dress from Elizabeth and James. I’ve had it for quite some time—it’s one of those dresses you keep around even if you don’t wear it much. I took it to Paris with the intention of wearing it to Versailles and then I had a reality check that I am neither a celebrity nor royalty and I had to do a ton of walking like everyone else (plus it was FREEZING). My friend and I had a good laugh about the fact I even thought that was a good idea…I still think the photos would have been fabulous! I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t able to capture the essence of the dress in a beautiful location until I visited the English Garden at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta. It is an absolutely gorgeous garden—perfect for a special occasion photo-shoot (lots of people have wedding photos taken there) or simply enjoying one of the delicious meals prepared by Chef Linden Sampson (more on his amazing skills in Part II of the review). Just like the E +J dress the garden is quaint, whimsical and romantic.
My jewelry is from Admiral Row, an Atlanta based company that specializes in hand-picked vintage and new trend pieces. Their prices are extremely affordable but still good quality—your bank account and skin will thank you. Music to my ears! The rings I’m wearing are nickel and lead free which I know for those of you with allergies is huge. I love how lightweight their minimalist pieces are—I don’t get that heavy feeling at the end of the day where I want to rip everything off. With the versatility of the earrings and rings, I was able to add a fun element to the dress without distracting from the design. They’d also be great with an everyday casual look (coming soon!).
