ATLANTARTICA

Unless you're living under a rock you've probably heard about the traffic disaster that occurred here in Atlanta on Tuesday. Fortunately, I was not as affected by the snow as many others. I left work around 1:15pm and made it home in about 2 hours--normally my drive is 7-10 mins. Some people were stuck in traffic for 8+ hours and others never made it home!

My office has been closed so between working from home and catching up on emails I decided to take some pictures of the snow. However inconvenient it may be in the city of Atlanta, the snow is still beautiful. I haven't seen this much snow since I was visiting Virginia a couple of winters ago. Luckily my snow boots were stashed in the back of my closet all these years so I was able to venture outside, no problem.

The pictures near the end of the post are my favorite. The night before I took the pictures the snow began piling up in the shallow parts of the pool and slowly started to freeze over. The next morning half of the pool was covered with snow and ice with small leaves peeking through. It reminds me of stained glass or flat pressed flowers in a book.
