I can always find serenity in the nature that fills Virginia, my home state. My last visit home was to celebrate the home going of my late Papa, Charlie Edward Wilson. Although a sudden and grief filled occasion I found peace in the beauty that surrounded our family grave site. I noticed myself getting lost for what seemed like an eternity taking pictures of the aged tree stumps, some of which are more than one hundred years old. Some of the grave plots were from so long ago they were only marked with a stone, no name, no story. I knew I was standing on so much family history and wondered who stood there before me. The trees and old houses told a silent story that I attempted to capture through my lens.
